Divergence Academy is a combination of structured learning, mentoring, and projects. Its curriculum covers different technologies then projects utilizing a combination of those technologies. It is very hands-on and leverages the diverse experience of the students to enhance the experience. The projects are easily transferred to corporate solutions and many of the tools remain available to the students.

Students can use a PC or a Mac. Mac users sometimes have an extra layer of learning, but this is a good thing. Reliable Wi-Fi is a must. It is crucial to have a web cam and mic for daily engagement. Yes, live engagement is required. We also strongly recommend an extra monitor, for several reasons. Check out local thrift stores for cheaper options.
There are several payment options available for you to choose from. These include student loans, VA tuition reimbursement, grants, and even income share agreements. We do not currently offer any scholarships, but some people may be eligible for special discounts.
We maintain smaller class sizes for personal attention. Cohorts typically range from 10-20 students who benefit from networking relationships with instructors. Our instructors greatly impact students beyond content, frequently in mentor-like roles. This personalized attention helps learners connect past experiences to new learning and to figure out their new pathways.
Our students come to us with different levels of technical knowledge. Each cohort is diverse in experience and interests. Success is measured in individual growth. We empower you to move forward regardless of what level you are starting at.
Immersive programs are 400 hours. We currently have three options to serve diverse needs: 10 weeks of 8-hr class, 20 weeks of 4-hr class, and 20 weekends of 10-hr class.
Programs end, but learning never does. Former students will always be part of our alumni network and our school. The programs connect learning across topics, and it will be necessary to continue studying after the program ends especially in prep for certifications. Alternatively, we also hold weekday classes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT.

This is a big unknown in today’s world with Covid impacts. Currently all programs are remote, but our campus is open for students to use our space, our computers, or just our Wi-Fi. Looking ahead to 2022, we are ready to offer in-person delivery. Schools across the country are waiting on official statements.
Because of our remote learning options, Americans can attend our classes from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a strong internet connection and keep proper track of time zone differences. International students are also welcome to join our Data Science Immersive and Cybersecurity Penetration Tester courses. However, we do not know whether local companies will feel open to sponsoring a visa, and we do not provide visa assistance.
